According to an email statistics report from the Radicati Group, the average working American will send around 40 e-mails every day. This really isn’t that surprising seeing as how 86% of professionals name email as their preferred means of business communication. According to Radicati:
“Email remains the most pervasive form of communication in the business world, while other technologies such as social networking, instant messaging (IM), mobile IM, and others are also taking hold, email remains the most ubiquitous form of business communication.”
It’s also important to note that our email address’ act almost like digital keys and fingerprints. As we surf the web and browse the internet, our e-mail address is required to sign up for everything from really awesome newsletters (like Tag The Flag’s), to social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Below are a few more stats about email usage from Templafy:
– An average office worker receives 121 emails a day
– Globally a staggering 269 billion emails are sent each day and there are currently just over 3.7 billion email users worldwide.
– With an annual growth rate of 4.4% forecast over the next four years, it’s estimated that by the end of 2021 over 316 billion emails will be sent each day and there will be 4.1 billion email users – that’s over half the entire world’s population.
